Let me give two examples on how he touched me.In April, 1994,I was a poor man living in Port Elizabeth,South Africa. I was a permanent resident of South Africa but not a citizen. Still I was driven to the polls by a South African Army captain.I got to cast my vote in the first all race election. It was a glorious day in my life.
In late 2005 I met South African ambassador to the U.S.Barbara Joyce Masekela. She was the lady who 11 years earlier had helped me to get permission to vote. She helped me again to get the permission to return to South Africa as a visitor.
I was crying this afternoon and with good cause.
